Country girl corner is a lovely book packed with lots of very personalized crafty projects. What makes it different from the run of the mill craft book, is that it is a self-published. It arrived to me beautifully wrapped in tissue paper accompanied by one of ‘Missy’ the lavender cat’s kittens.
As well as the projects in the book, Lesley explains how she develops her ideas by making three of any new design, improving each one as she goes along, until she is happy with the end result. The book reads as a story and has so much more than most books of its kind. Included in the book are old fashioned soft toys such as a Raggedy Anne. Modern takes on old fashioned ideas such as Dolly Daisy and her quilt, Stick Leg doll, Bear in a Box, Hug in a Rug.
There are decorative projects such as a Rag Wreath, Lavender Hearts, and bird mobiles. Projects for the home include cushions, pin-cushions, lavender and wheat bag, bags and a notebook cover. There is jewellery, including a liberty bracelet, and a necklace. The book comes with its own CD with country Girl patterns.
Although the styling is beautiful and the projects are fabulous and easy to make, my only criticism is that the photographs could have been brighter.
